Dear Falcon Families,

I hope you enjoyed our live Virtual Open House this week. In the event that you were not able to attend live, below I have included the link to the Fall Open House Website where you can access all teachers’ Open House recordings. In addition to Open House, I want to draw your attention to the information on parent nominations for both School Site Council (SSC) and Site Governance Team (SGT). Currently, we have two parent vacancies for SSC and one parent vacancy for SGT. As of Friday morning, we received minimal responses on the Google Form sign-up sheet. If you are interested in serving on one of these committees, please see the info below and complete the Google Form. I will then send out a ballot this week for voting. The first SSC meeting will be Tuesday, September 28th while the first SGT meeting will be Tuesday, October 5th. In this update, I’ve also included yearbook updates for seniors, information on the weekly College Series and a few reminders. Here are the latest updates as of 9-19-21.

* Please forward this message to your child’s email account so they have all the latest info.

SRHS School Committees and Parent Volunteers

School Site Council (SSC) meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 3:45pm while Site Governance Team (SGT) Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month at 3:45pm. This year, we have two parent vacancies for SSC and one parent vacancy for SGT. Please complete this Google Form: SRHS School Committees and Parent Volunteers if you are interesting in being a part of one or both of these committees. Also included in the Google Form are options to indicate if you are interested in participating in other, non-election groups/events such as the English Learner Advisory Council and No Place for Hate sponsored activities. The google Form will close on Tuesday, September 21st. I will take the names submitted for SSC and SGT and create an electronic ballot to be sent out for both SSC and SGT elections soon after.

LCFF Form Data Collection

An email was sent to families on September 10, 2021 regarding data collection from our families. This data helps to determine our Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) funding from the state. It is critical that we collect this data from every family to ensure our school receives all the state funding to which it is entitled. Please see this Link: LCFF Data Collection for information on how to complete this form.

Counseling Updates

Senior College Presentation and Supports

An email was sent to all senior student email accounts and to senior parents on Thursday, September 16th with the supports available to assist seniors with their post-secondary plans.

Student Transcript may NOT be sent to colleges

If an Enrollment Form has not been submitted to the school, or the form is submitted but the parent/guardian checks off "No" on box 32A, then transcripts and letters of recommendation will NOT be sent to colleges, the NCAA or scholarship organizations. If you need to change your response to "yes" for box 32A, please email Grace Parra (gparra@sandi.net). If you still need to submit the Enrollment Form, please have your student pick it up in the attendance office and after it is completed have it turned into Grace Parra.

Students in this situation were notified on 9/9 and again on 9/14 in their student email account.

That’s all for this evening. Thanks and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Sincerely,

Matt Lawson, Ed.D
