Buy Tickets to the Football Games Early – Tickets will be sold out!
This coming Friday is our big rivalry football game, Scripps vs. Mira Mesa. We call this the “Battle for the 15.” The team who wins keeps the “Battle for the 15” trophy and proudly showcases it in the front office. Of course, we expect to take home the trophy this year. Traditionally, this is the biggest game of the year and we are hosting it at SRHS. Each year tickets get completely sold out before halftime so purchase them early. You can use GoFan to purchase tickets. Click this Link: GoFan Flyer to purchase tickets.

See this Link: Safety Guideline Highlights 2021-22 for the highlights of the safety guidelines. No new updates as of this week.
During lunch counselors are available outside of the counseling office to assist all students on a drop-in basis. Please encourage your student to stop by if they have any questions or concerns; this is a great way to get help! Students still have the option to schedule a separate meeting with their counselor if needed. Click here to see the counselor new alpha breakdown.
Progress grades are available in the student PowerSchool accounts. Hopefully, your student has been doing well in their classes, however if there are any classes of concern, encourage them to reach out to their teacher to create a plan for how to get back on track https://www.srhscounseling.com/class-recovery-plan. Many teachers offer tutoring and there is also peer tutoring offered in the library Monday through Friday after school.
9th Grade Presentation
The Freshmen Presentation will be given during English classes on 10/20 & 10/21. The presentation and Freshmen Resource Packet will be made available on the counseling website after all presentations are complete. Counselors will be in the English classes on 10/23 as a follow-up for any questions that may arise after watching the presentation and reviewing the packet.
Common Application - Mandatory FERPA Waiver to Send Transcripts
Seniors using the Common Application to apply to colleges will need to complete the FERPA waiver and upload a screenshot of the completed waiver onto their Storyboard in Xello. Click here for information about the FERPA waiver and how it can be added to the storyboard. School forms, including the student transcript, cannot be sent until the FERPA waiver is uploaded into Xello with the correct information showing.
Senior College Application Labs
Senior College Application Labs will be offered in the Falcon’s Nest (tables by the cafeteria) on Tuesdays from 8:45 A.M. - 9:40 A.M. and Thursdays 1:30 P.M. - 4:00 P.M. (The labs will run from 10/12 -11/18). Students must bring a laptop/chromebook with them. College Labs are available on a drop-in basis for students, no appointment is needed. Students can use the time to work on applications, ask questions, or get their applications reviewed prior to submitting. We HIGHLY recommend having applications reviewed by an SRHS counselor before submitting to ensure there are no errors. Errors can be challenging and time consuming to correct after an application is submitted.
CSU Application Resource
Our SDSU rep shared resource videos to assist our students with the application process. The video links are posted in the Senior Post-Secondary Guide under the link titled California State University.
Juniors & Seniors
Please encourage your student to review their transcript in Powerschool. If they see anything that looks incorrect, please have them reach out to our registrar, Janay Lamar (firstname.lastname@example.org).
That’s all for this evening. Thanks, and enjoy the rest of your weekend.
