SDG&E Pipeline Safety Project
SDG&E notified us their Scripps Poway Parkway natural gas pipeline replacement project began this week. Although our school is more than 3 miles from the project construction (Scripps Poway Parkway from Pomerado Road west to Mercy Road at Branicole Lane), our campus is very close to one of the staging yards on Meanley Drive. To help limit traffic congestion, rather than having their trucks exit the staging yard and head west on Meanley and north on Scripps Ranch Boulevard, they directed their drivers to instead take Hoyt Park Drive to Scripps Ranch Boulevard and then going north. Hopefully this will help morning and afternoon congestion. As an FYI, although these preventative measures have been made, construction traffic may still happen in the morning between 8:30-9:00 and in the afternoon 3:30-4:00. See this Link: SDG&E Flyer for more details
Wednesday College Series
The Scripps Ranch High School Foundation is excited to announce the Wednesday College Series this Wednesday, November 10, 2021 will feature admissions counselors from: Grand Canyon University, Johnson and Wales, Southern Methodist University, and University of Colorado, Boulder. This weekly event is open to all students and will be held at lunch from 1:05-1:30pm in the 800 Building Amphitheater. For information about upcoming college fairs and presentations, please visit the SRHS Foundation College Corner: https://srhsfoundation.org/college-corner
10th Grade Presentation
The Sophomore Presentation was given during English classes on 11/3 & 11/4. The presentation and Sophomore Resource Packet are now available on the counseling website on the Sophomore page. Counselors also did a follow up visit in English classes on 11/5 to answer any questions that came up after watching the presentation and reviewing the packet.
Home & CCAP students
By now all Seniors who are enrolled in Assigned Time Home, and Juniors and Seniors who have CCAP classes must have a sticker on their current student ID. If they do not have a sticker they will not be allowed off campus by security. Students should stop by the counseling office before school, at lunch or after school if they have not picked up their sticker yet.
Do NOT requests transcripts for CSU &UC
Please remind your senior student they should not request a transcript for a college application unless it is required in the initial application process. CSU and UC schools do NOT want transcripts as part of their application process. They only want one if a student is admitted to the school and chooses to attend the school. If there is an extenuating circumstance where a transcript is needed earlier, this would be shared with them in their college portal and/or the email they provided on their application. When students request transcripts that are not needed, it can make it more challenging for our registrar to get through all the requests to be able to send the transcripts for the schools that do need them sent now. We greatly appreciate your understanding and support while we try to assist seniors thorough this college application process.
November 18th, Join Cal SOAP and the San Diego Foundation to learn all about scholarships. Flyer for Scholarship Nights
That’s all for this evening. Thanks, and enjoy the rest of your weekend.
