Dear Falcon Families,

I hope you are enjoying your weekend. I’m excited to announce that we have created a website for the Class of 2021. We will update the website with the latest details about senior activities and graduation to make sure you have all of the latest information. I have included the link below. In this update, I have included details about the close of the P4 grading period, the SRHS May Wellness Workshop, information about the California Healthy Kids Survey, details about student athlete recognition on May 21st, and more. Here are the latest updates as of 5-9-21.

* Please forward this message to your child’s email account so they have all the latest info.

Progress Report 4 Grades

The progress report 4 grading period ended this past Friday, May 7th. Progress report 4 grades will be available to view on Friday, May 14th via the PowerSchool Parent Portal. Due to the pandemic, physical report cards will not be sent home.

California Healthy Kids (CHKS) Survey – Parent Version

This CHKS survey is a very important survey that we need as many parents as possible to take. This survey is one of the primary measures of school climate and school connectivity. This area is something we have focused a lot on over the past few years and hope to continue to improve. In order to create an action plan that will garner results, we need accurate data to see where we are at. This is why this survey is so important. Here is some additional information:

This survey is an opportunity to communicate your perceptions about Scripps Ranch High School. The information you provide will help guide both district and school efforts to promote safety, enhance learning supports, and improve student achievement. The survey is anonymous and is designed so that no one can be identified from the data. You do not have to respond to any questions that you feel could be used to identify you. Simply skip any such questions. All questions apply to Scripps Ranch High only. The results are for the use of San Diego Unified School District. The California Department of Education and WestEd will preserve data confidentiality and refer any data requests to the district.

Instructions for Accessing the Survey - approx. time 15-20 minutes

If you have more than one child at this school, you will only need to complete one survey for this school. Please fill out just one survey about the school using your oldest child as a reference. The window to take the survey is open until May 28th.

Access the survey online by copying the following URL into your internet browser: https://wested.ugam-apps.com/wed/ts/zk9B

California Healthy Kids (CHKS) Survey – Student Version

There is a very important student version as well. ASB is helping to create a nice graphic that teachers will post on their Learning Management System so students will take the survey. The student survey takes 25 – 35 minutes and is only for 9th and 11th graders. Please encourage your child to take the survey using this link:

The window to take the survey is open until May 28th.

SRHS Wellness Workshop Monday May 17th

In order to help support students with items like stress management, finding balance, personal growth and success, and more, Mending Matters is putting together monthly virtual workshops to educate SRHS students in these areas. The next scheduled workshop is Monday, May 17th from 3 – 4:30pm. The workshop is open to all students. To see more details and sign up, see this Link: SRHS Wellness Workshop May 17th. Attendance has been a bit small so I want to encourage as many students as possible to sign up. These are great workshops and are very helpful, especially during this unique and stressful time.

Free COVID Testing for Students

SDUSD in partnership with UCSD is offering free COVID testing for students who come onsite for any reason (hybrid, athletes, band, AFJROTC, Theatre, etc.). Please see this Link: SRHS COVID Testing for details. Testing is optional.

All of the latest details about senior activities as well as the ceremony itself will be posted on this website. Feel free to check in on it periodically to get the latest details. I’ve included the link in the header for easy reference.

The event will be on Friday, May 21st from 12 – 1pm on campus. If you would like to be a part of this event, please fill out this Google Form: Student Athlete Recognition Day. Counseling Updates

Summer School 2021

Accepting Applications now! The district will be offering summer school from June 21- July 30, 2021. There will be an option to make up 4 credits through ONSITE learning or 2 credits through online learning. More information about summer school and the required applications can be found on the SRHS counseling website summer school page. If your student has any D’s or F’s that need to be remediated for college or graduation, it is best to submit the application as soon as possible to secure their spot in summer school. Students can verify the grades they have earned in high school by viewing their unofficial transcript in the PowerSchool Student Portal. The deadline to submit the summer school application is May 21st.

SAT/ACT Mock Exam

Revolution Prep is offering our students the opportunity to take a practice college admissions exam from home. A proctored practice exam is a great way to get a real-time snapshot of testing performance to help create a testing plan and determine which test to take if a student is interested in taking a college admissions exam. After the test, scores are received immediately via the Revolution Prep app. Every Revolution Prep practice exam comes with a free 30-minute score report review to assess specific strengths and areas of improvement.
