Graduation Announcement – Exciting news!
I am thrilled to be able to share the good news with you all that we have found a way to bring all of the Seniors back together again for our 2021 graduation ceremony, AND we can also bring family to share in the ceremony! The final details with Petco Park are still being worked out and the final contract does still need to be approved by our Board of Education this coming Tuesday. SDUSD has been in talks with the Padres and Petco Park for the past few weeks and they have graciously agreed to host a ceremony inside the park with a stage on the infield. The date and time of the Scripps Ranch High School ceremony are still to be determined, so I will share as soon as those details are finalized. I am so excited that we will be able to provide all of you with this opportunity and we can have an amazing ceremony for you all!

Families in Need of a Thermometer
Per the safety guidelines, students are expected to take their temperature every day before coming onto campus. To support those families who do not have access to a thermometer at home, San Diego Unified School District, with our Nursing and Wellness Department, is conducting a distribution of digital thermometers. These thermometers were donated to the district for distribution to families. The goal of this initiative is to ensure that families have access to thermometers to monitor health and detect illness early. The company donating the thermometers would like to collect data to track trends in illness. More information will be included with the thermometers. Thermometers are free of charge for families while supplies last. The team will distribute one thermometer per family. If you are in need of a thermometer, please complete this Google Form: Thermometer Needs

We want to thank our families in advance for their patience as we continue to work on uploading and correcting student course requests. We know students get anxious to find out their courses for next year, and this part of the process is very important for us to be able to create a master schedule and start making schedules for our students. We greatly appreciate your understanding that due to the amount of time and work needed for this process, it may take a little longer to respond to non-emergency situations.
Current Freshman, Sophomores and Juniors have completed articulation. Any student who did not upload their class requests into the Student Portal, had them completed by their counselor. Counselors are also reviewing the courses students requested to make sure they have met the prerequisites and can be prepared for success. If students chose classes they are not qualified to take at this time, for many classes, it is not too late to be qualified by the end of the year! Please have your student review the prerequisites for the courses chosen to confirm they have met them. This is important so they are aware of whether-or-not they need to raise their grade or earn a teacher recommendation at the end of the year. Prerequisites can be checked on the Course Descriptions on the Counseling website.
Grad Speeches and National Anthem Auditions: As we near the end of the school year, we are looking for seniors who would like to be considered to address the Class of 2021 with a speech at graduation. There will be an opportunity for seniors to audition to perform the national anthem at graduation as well. Click here for more information about guidelines and due dates. Please share this information with your senior student.
