Dear Falcon Families,
I hope you all had a restful and safe Spring Break. As of today, all staff is back on campus and getting ready for the next phase of learning beginning April 12th. I am happy to share that we have enough information to make a decision on whether students who chose the “hybrid” option beginning April 12th will be returning onsite two days per week or four days per week. I will share that information, along with some additional updates/reminders below. Here are the latest updates as of 4-5-21.
Stable Group Update
Thank you to all of you for completing the Instructional Model Survey for our next phase of learning. Given the survey data, we are able to accommodate all students who selected the “hybrid” onsite option to return to school 4-days per week in one stable group. At this time, no additional requests to return to the “hybrid” onsite instructional model will be accepted. We will reassess every few weeks to see if we have room for students to return onsite before the conclusion of this school year. We did receive a few requests via email/phone over Spring Break and we will honor these requests.
Students Changing from “Hybrid” to “Online Only”
If during the course of the remainder of the year your student would like to change from the “hybrid” onsite model to fully online, please complete this Google Form: Online Learning Only so we are aware and can update our numbers accordingly. This is a family decision and will not impact a student’s grade, athletic eligibility or attendance.
Communication to Families who Selected the “Hybrid” Onsite Option
Tomorrow afternoon I will send a message to families who chose the “hybrid” onsite option. Tomorrow’s message will include a form that will require parents’ electronic signature as well as some additional details regarding what to expect when coming to campus and participating in the “hybrid” onsite learning model. More details to come tomorrow to these families.
Verifying Your Instructional Model Choice Survey - Reminder
* Do not use the PowerSchool App on your phone as it has some technical difficulties and you won’t be able to see the advisory course. Use either the internet browser on your computer or the internet browser on your phone to log into PowerSchool.
We have added an “advisory” class to each student’s schedule. This will act as a non-academic placeholder with either Vice Principal Parra (online) or Vice Principal Hines (hybrid) as the teacher. The room number will read “hybrid” or “online.” You can view your child’s schedule, through the PowerSchool Parent Portal, to view your child’s instructional model choice. Here are examples (advisory class is on the bottom):
At this time, no additional requests to return to the “hybrid” onsite instructional model will be accepted unless you requested it through the Instructional Model Survey or the Google Form I sent Sunday, March 28th. We did receive a few requests via email/phone over Spring Break and we will honor these requests. If you requested changes over Spring Break, we are in the process of making those changes to the advisory class in PowerSchool so please give 1-2 days to verify those changes.
