Parent Message 4-18-21
Dear Falcon Families,
Last week was exciting seeing a lot of our students return to campus for the first time in over a year. I’ve included some fun pictures here if you’d like to see our first day back: Link: Picture 1, Link: Picture 2, Link: Picture 3, Link: Picture 4. Overall, week 1 of hybrid learning went well. We look forward to continuing to improve the experience for both our “hybrid” and “online only” learners. I’m also excited to announce that we had some room open up in classrooms so we can begin the process of inviting more students back for the “hybrid” learning option sooner than expected. I have included information below about how “online only” families can sign up for the “hybrid” learning option. I’ve also included our bell schedule links in the header for your reference. Just as I did last week, I’ll start with information for both “hybrid” and “online only” learners and then share information pertaining to “hybrid” learners only and “online only” learners. Here are the latest updates as of 4-18-21
* Please forward this message to your child’s email account so they have all the latest info.

D or F Earned in Quarter 3
If your student earned a D or F in Quarter 3 and needs to remediate that class for college admissions or graduation, please have them reach out to their counselor to come up with a remediation plan. If the course they need is offered through the online Edgenuity program, it would be helpful to reach out in the beginning of quarter 4 so that they have the most time complete the course.
Summer School 2021
The district will be offering summer school from June 21- July 30, 2021. There will be an option to make up 4 credits through ONSITE learning or 2 credits through online learning. More information about summer school and the application will be released in the next Parent message.
Transcript Requests: View the process to request transcripts for the college admissions appeal process, for colleges who want a current/progress transcript during your acceptance of admissions and your final transcript on the Transcript Request Page on the Counseling Website.

-------------------- “Hybrid” Student Update--------------------
Changing from “Hybrid” to “Online Only”
If you are interested in changing your learning option to “online only,” please reach out to your respective Vice Principal and they will share the Google Form with you for our records. Due to the numerous logistics involved in officially changing the learning option in our system, we are not changing any rosters yet officially. Teachers will still include students as “hybrid” students for this week and take attendance accordingly. We will work to make these changes in our system ASAP.
Per the SDUSD attendance policy, if “hybrid” students are not onsite but attending class through Zoom, teachers have been instructed to mark these students absent before 12pm. In the afternoon, an “all call” will go out to these families informing them their child is not attending school onsite. This is to ensure families know their child is not attending school onsite. In the afternoon, teachers can then go back and mark these students present since they attended Zoom (per the SDUSD attendance policy). Because we have not officially changed rosters yet in our system, those families who requested to change from “hybrid” to “online only” will continue to get “all calls” until the rosters are officially changed. Student attendance will not be penalized since the teachers will go back and mark students present in the afternoon. We will work to make these changes in our system ASAP.

“Online Only” to “Hybrid” Learning Option
We had some space open up in classrooms on campus so we are excited to invite some “online only” students to come to campus for the “hybrid” learning option. There are no guarantees, but we will bring as many students back as the space in the classrooms allow. Please complete this Google Form: Online Only to Hybrid. I have the Google Form set up to give you a receipt once you submit. Please keep this receipt for your records. We will reach out to you as soon as we are able to accommodate your child.
Picking up Classroom Materials - revised
For “online only” students who need to pick up classroom materials, see this Link: Item Pick-up for the dates and the protocol.
That’s all for today. Have a great rest of the evening.
